Behind the Lens
I’m Ty Crawford, a freelance location and studio photographer. At the moment I’m based out of a little town outside of D.C. I have had the privilege in photographing some of the most awesome people on the planet and the best part about these people is the part where I get to call them friends. I have an English bulldog named Alfred and he snores. LOUD. I also work full-time as an interactive media specialist on a team full of gifted people. Life is great.
How it all Started
Not long ago I read an article that said 75% of the worlds population do not know what their true passion is. I thought that number was outrageously high. Could this really be accurate? Finding your passion has to start somewhere. It could come from a dream, a conversation, or a bump in the head. I guess I just had it easy because my passion was handed to me. It all started with an old 35mm film camera that was given to me as a payment for fixing a computer. Not only did that camera give me the ambition to learn how to create art in what my eyes could see, but it sparked a new passion in my life. Now nearly 7 years later, I am pursuing the world to capture time in a single frame. I am fortunate enough to have worked with some extrordinary folks and travel great distances for photo opportunities.
