Support the starving artist
I take pride in my work and the time that I put into each project. I am very proud to offer my full services that include the photography, complete photo editing, retouching, printing, and graphic design work. With that being said, I would like to provide an explanation for why my prices are what they are.
What you are paying for is not not just a session fee and the actual photograph, you’re paying for time and expertise in creating the image itself. My average $100 portrait session workflow breaks down into 3 steps, and you can see I do not make $100 an hour.
- Constant communication with potential clients
- Booking a photo shoot
- Travel to the location
- Equipment setup
- Shooting the photos
- Equipment tear down
- Travel from location
- Load the images onto a computer
- Back-up the files to a network drive
- 4 hours of photo editing
- Upload edited photos to Proofing Gallery
- Provide customer service when proofing
- Sending digital photos to print lab
- Receive and review photos from print lab
- Ship final prints to client.
You can see how a one-hour session easily turns into an eight-hour day or more from start to finish. By keeping my prints at a higher quality and cost than the portrait centers in local malls, my time and effort put into creating a completely customized shoot can be somewhat profitable, because after all, this is a business and we all have bills to pay!
I offer over 30 standard digital print sizes ranging between 2×3 wallets and 30×45 posters using only professional printers and paper. All photos have the option of being mounted on Single Weight Mattboard, Canvas, Styrene, or Foam Core. I also offer Gallery Wraps, Gallery Mats, Fine Art Prints, Fine Art Metals, Fine Art Acrylics, Standouts, and Custom Albums.
